In cases like this extra long range night vision cameras are irreplaceable. The important factor when buying this type of security camera is a lens. You need lens which allows zooming on the object. Otherwise what is the point of having long range infrared illuminators, if the lens installed on the camera is a wide angle type? You won't be able to see any details at greater distances. Vari-Focal Lens offered with most of long range CCTV Cameras allows to manually zoom in on the object to see the details. It is important to understand, that with zooming-in we are shrinking effective field of view of the camera in order to achieve more detailed picture. In other words, i.e. 200ft range camera is not designed to show all area between the camera and 200ft distance. It will show the area you want to focus on. Long range cameras do not cover more area than standard IR Cameras, but they can cover areas that are farther away. Thanks to VF Lens we can adjust size of the area we want to cover, distance and details.
